

The temporary hands-on exhibition “Try to fly” traces the history of flight simulation, from its origins to present day, allowing to experience how it feels to be a pilot.
From the early efforts up to modern versions of software for flight simulation, used not only for entertainment purposes, but also for training pilots. The exhibition permits to discover one of the least known chapters in the history of flight simulation: the development of the new discipline of aviation psychology and of tests for pilots selection during World War I. Flight simulators and vintage scientific instrumentation, video-puzzles and hands-on exhibits among the historic airplanes, relics and paintings of the permanent collection of the Aeronautical Museum Gianni Caproni, one of the most prestigious aeronautical institution worldwide.
